Festivals have always been a favorite event for fun around the world. Regardless of their size, from smaller local events to major international festivals, the organization of festivals is a complex process that requires careful planning, significant resources and coordination. The success of such a event depends on different factors, including the selection of performers, location, marketing strategy and managing logistics, finances and security. This final thesis will be studied in detail and analyzing key aspects related to festivals, including their form, history, organization, and compare two significant festivals in the Republic of Croatia. The beginning of the development of awareness of national identity after World War II was significant both in the world and European framework and in Croatia. The revival of humanism after the destruction in the war launched the creation of cultural events in Croatia, such as the Dubrovnik Summer Games and Split Summer Festival, in the early 1950s. Despite this, the roots of the festival go back to long history, until ancient times, such as Greek wine festivals dedicated to God Dionysus. These festivals included music, dance, and competitions in singing and reciting, and throughout history they have evolved with different changes to this day.
