Abstract
U medijskom svijetu danas sve češće susrećemo i dezinformacije, manipulacije, ali i lažne vijesti koje smo već mnogo puta sreli u povijesti i zapravo su prisutne od kada postoji čovječanstvo. Mediji i suvremene informacijske i komunikacijske tehnologije samo su olakšale i ubrzale dijeljenje takvih informacija pa su i posljedice dalekosežnije. Gotovo tri četvrtine djece (73%) koja se služe internetom svjesna su koncepta lažnih vijesti (fake news), a četiri od desetero (39%) izjavilo ih je da su primijetili lažne vijesti online ili na društvenim medijima, pokazalo je izvještaj Ofcoma o korištenju medija i stavovima djece i roditelja (Children and Parents Media Use and Attitudes Report 2017, https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/latest/featuresand-news/children-social-media-fake-news). Visoka ekspertna skupina Europske komisije o lažnim vijestima i online dezinformacijama pojam dezinformacije opisala je na sljedeći način: „Pojam koji uključuje sve oblike lažnih, netočnih ili zavaravajućih informacija koje su osmišljene, predstavljene i promovirane kako bi nanijele štetu javnosti ili radi stjecanja profita“. Osnovna im je nakana – manipulirati publikom i navoditi nas na pogrešne zaključke o osobama, događajima ili pojavama o kojima se lažno izvještava i piše. Ova široka definicija jednim dijelom obuhvaća i pojam „lažne vijesti“ koje posljednjih godina ipak veći dio javnosti i stručnjaka svrstava u politički kontekst, što najbolje ilustrira primjer iz američke predsjedničke kampanje.
Abstract (english)
In the media world, we are more and more often encountered disinformation, manipulation, and false news that we have met many times in history and are actually present since there is humanity. Media and modern information and communication technologies have only facilitated and accelerated the sharing of such information, so the consequences are far more far-reaching. Nearly three-quarters of the children (73%) who use the Internet are aware of the concept of fake news, and four out of ten (39%) said they noticed false news on-line or social media, according to OFOC's Report on Use media and attitudes of children and parents. (Children and Parents Media Use and Attitudes Report 2017, https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/latest/featuresand-news/children-social-media-fake-news). The European Commission's High Commissioner on False News and Online Disinformation described the concept of disinformation as "A concept that includes all forms of false, incorrect or misleading information that is designed, presented and promoted to inflict damage to the public or to gain profits." Their main purpose is to manipulate the audience and point us to wrong conclusions about people, events, or phenomena that are misleading and writing. This broad definition includes, in part, the notion of "false news", which in recent years, however, puts much of the public and experts in the political context, which best illustrates the example of the US presidential campaign.
