Public opinion is a result of common communication in public sphere and it expresses the views and judgement about relevant social issues. Given the nature of its communicational function, public opinion is an extremely important element of a political decision making process in democratic societies. In order to explore political public opinion, social science has developed a methodology. The methodology provides insights into certain public attitudes towards some current political issues. The most important methods used to gain insight into public opinion and attitudes are survey/polls and interviews. The survey is a method used to obtain necessary information about the opinions and attitudes. It is basically a scientific intent of gaining a better insight into the attitudes of a wider population. The interview is a research method that includes conversation between researchers and a representative sample of the given polulation. Due to its broad capacity, adaptability and accessability to both quantative and qualitative aspects, the inteview will certainly remain the most commonly used method in future public opinion researches dealing with political issues.
