Event management is an event which can characterize an individual, a community or state. It usually takes many months to prepare an event management and it also takes into consideration professional and educated persons who are able to bear with different challenges during planning of an event management. Besides exceptional requests and hardships which can occur during planning and organizing an event management, it is important to remark that this activity brings a pleasure to people. They remember the event all their life. The main objective is to perceive the role and significance of event management Špancirfest in Varaždin county. Other objectives relate on the analysis of concept and design of event management. Applied methods in this work are: method of description, compilation, analysis and case study method. Špancirfest is a street and musical event which takes place traditionally every year at the end of August in Varaždin county. That kind of event connects people of different age because it offers programmes for not just adults in the feature of cosmopolitan and gastronomy offers but for children in the feature of numerous contents as well. In the concluding considerations, it is noted that Špancirfest as a national and european recognizable event, expands a role of mediator in developing business opportunites and possibilites. But, the authorities should, by means of experts, continue to raise citizens' awareness of the common interest of the development of cultural tourism and focus on the development of the cultural identity of the city of Varaždin, assuming the possibility that the cultural identity becomes the identity of the city of Varaždin.
