The work is based on the theory accompanied by research that companies in the gaming industry use unethical and predatory tactics in order to make a profit. The research examined the audience that is involved in the gaming world, and an analysis of predatory tactics for monetization of video games and an analysis of the case of Cyberpunk 2077 from the producer CD Project Red was made. The first part of the paper is dedicated to advertising, ethical advertising, organization-led and features of verbal and non-verbal communication. The history of games is briefly covered with key games that are the foundation and beginning of the gaming industry revolution. Also, the 10 most popular genres are briefly described with examples. Techniques used to advertise games are analyzed and how women contribute a large percentage to the gaming industry. Predatory tactics that promote FOMO (fear of missing out) and gambling and spending money on in-game benefits that in most cases give an advantage over other players have been studied in more detail. The case of Cyberpunk 2077 is elaborated through the analysis and comparison of the finished product and the announcements made for it.
