Abstract
Terorizam je na neki način jedan od oblika političke strategije, te zalazi čak i u strategije ratovanja. Nasilnim i nezakonitim postupanjima pojedinci ili grupe nastoje stvoriti paniku, širiti strah i na bilo koji način takvim radnjama potaknuti ciljane skupine na djelovanje u njihovu korist, a sve po krinkom religijskih ili ideoloških ciljeva. Takvi su ciljevi više ili manje vođeni spomenutim, ali nerijetko je to samo krinka za sakupljanje naklonosti brojnih poklonika. Jedan od kanala koji su teroristi prigrlili aktivno kako bi privlačili nove poklonike, jesu i mediji. Suvremene tehnologije medijima su omogućile globalnu rasprostranjenost i oni kao takvi uvelike utječu na širenje informacija i formiranje javnog mijenja. Danas teroristi koriste TV, radio, društvene mreže i niz drugih online alata kako bi bili globalno prisutni i širili svoju ideologiju i poruku. Koriste se pomno planiranim strategijama komuniciranja kako bi došli do potencijalnih članova ili kako bi javnost „prestravili“ svojim djelovanjem i utjerali strah u kosti, jer je to jedan od načina da vladajuće strukture djeluju u cilju ostvarivanja njihovih ciljeva. Cilj ovog rada je definirati sam terorizam i načne na koje teroristi upotrebljavaju suvremene medije kako bi ostvarili svoje ciljeve i privukli nove poklonike u svoje redove.
Abstract (english)
In a way, terrorism is one of the forms of political strategy, and it even goes into warfare strategies. Through violent and illegal actions, individuals or groups try to create panic, spread fear and in any way such actions encourage the target groups to act in their favor, all under the guise of religious or ideological goals. Such goals are more or less driven by the aforementioned, but often it is just a disguise to gather the affection of numerous devotees. One of the channels that terrorists have actively embraced in order to attract new devotees is the media. Modern technologies have enabled the media to spread globally and as such they greatly influence the spread of information and the formation of public opinion. Today, terrorists use TV, radio, social media and a variety of other online tools to have a global presence and spread their ideology and message. They use carefully planned communication strategies in order to reach potential members or to "terrify" the public with their actions and instill fear in their bones, because this is one of the ways that ruling structures act in order to achieve their goals. The aim of this work is to define terrorism itself and the ways in which terrorists use modern media to achieve their goals and attract new devotees to their ranks.
