Employee motivation is a topic that preoccupies all excellent managers and companies today. Human resources management, whose indispensable and most important segment is employee motivation, is studied by scientists all over the world, and in practice is implemented by managers all over the world. In the world we live in, work is no longer just work. Work has become the backbone of life, therefore it is not surprising how much material and non-material resources are invested in order to improve the efficiency of our work and consequently be "successful at work". In order to increase the efficiency of various corporations, companies and generally all employers, more and more emphasis is placed on people, i.e. employees as the backbone of every company. Satisfied employees are one of the main engines of development and success of the company. It is a complex task to initiate and successfully guide employees towards the predetermined goals of the company, while not neglecting the employee himself and his needs. It is therefore necessary to find a balance between material and non-material forms of motivation and to establish a clear system of motivation and the person responsible for that job. In order for the aforementioned task to be implemented in practice as efficiently as possible, it is important to become familiar with different theories of motivation, as a theoretical basis for the development of satisfied and high-quality employees.
