Abstract Iako je područje introvertiranih i ekstrovertiranih tipova ličnosti nedovoljno istraženo, a publikacije i radovi na tu temu nerijetko potkrijepljeni krhkim dokazima i nategnutim „instinktivnim“ teorijama, dublje istraživanje ovog područja moglo bi nam omogućiti šire i pomnije razumijevanje naše vlastite prirode, kao i sposobnost bolje komunikacije s ljudima oko nas. Kroz velik dio ljudske povijesti introvertirani tipovi smatrani su osobama slabijeg karaktera koji ne posjeduju prikladnu društvenu opremu za ostvarivanje zdravih i dugoročnih odnosa. Međutim, u današnjem modernom, digitaliziranom i posljedično tome globaliziranom svijetu, njihova prava snaga sve više dolazi do izražaja. Danas sa sigurnošću možemo reći da introvertirane osobe mogu ostvariti iznimno čvrste društvene odnose, komunicirati s drugima jednakom tečnošću i elanom kao i ekstroverti, te biti vrhunski vođe u poslovnom planu, s nevjerojatnim sposobnostima motiviranja i inspiriranja drugih da ostvare iznimne podvige.
Stoga se za glavni cilj ovog rada nameće potreba podizanja svijesti o raznolikosti i širokom spektru ličnosti prisutnih u društvu te davanje smjernica za prepoznavanje i razumijevanje neočiglednih dubinskih karakternih razlika u funkciji ublažavanja komunikacijskih barijera i olakšavanja međusobne interakcije kao preteči izvršavanju društvenih pothvata. Važnost i ključna uloga introverata u razvoju društva kao cjeline također je u fokusu ovog rada. U radu, između ostalog, postavljamo pitanja o važnosti koju crte ličnosti pojedinca imaju na njihov privatni i poslovni uspjeh. Provlačimo ih kroz kontekst stigmatizacije introverata u pogledu usporedbe s njihovom oprečnom stranom - ekstrovertima, gdje se introverti u mnogim aspektima bivanja često prikazuju nedostatnijima i manje uspješnima. Međutim, kroz rad ćemo upoznati vrijednosti i vještine osoba s introvertiranim tipom ličnosti, što se događa u pozadini njihovog kritičkog razmišljanja, kako pristupaju izazovima s kojima se suočavaju te kroz aktualne primjere introvertiranih, ali uspješnih, pojedinaca pokazati kako je moguće ostvariti izuzetan poslovni uspjeh u svijetu naizgled dizajniranom za ekstroverte.
Abstract (english) Even though the subject of introverted and extroverted types of personalities is vaguely explored, and while the publications and thesis regarding the subject are often supported with fragile evidence and unconvincing, instinct-based theories, deeper research of this area might give us a broader and in-depth insight on our own nature, as well as the ability to communicate better with the people around us. Throughout a large part of history of mankind introverts were seen as people with weaker personalities which do not possess an adequate social equipment necessary to achieve healthy and long-term relationships. However, in today’s modern, digitalized and subsequently globalized world, their true strength is becoming ever more noticeable. Today we can say with certainty that introverts can achieve strong interpersonal relationships, communicate with others with the same fluency and enthusiasm as their counterparts – extroverts and be exceptional leaders in business aspect, with incredible ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve extraordinary goals.
Hence the main goal of this thesis imposes the need to raise awareness about the diversity and a wide spectrum of personalities present in our society but also giving guidance on how to detect and understand the extremely vague and deep character differences with the purpose of alleviating communication barriers and facilitating interpersonal communication as a precursor to executing social endeavors. The importance and key role of introverts in the development of the society as a whole is also the focus of this thesis. We are raising questions regarding the importance that personality traits have on an individual’s private and business success. We pass them through the context of stigmatization present when comparing introverts to extroverts, in which introverts are often being presented as less worthy and less successful. However, through this thesis we will familiarize with the real values and skills an introverted person possesses, what happens in the background of their critical thinking, how they approach challenges they face and through present examples of introverted but extremely successful individuals, show how to achieve great business success in a world seemingly designed for extroverts.
