The mass media, through the right to send and receive informations, have a significant role that provides us information, education and entertainment. Considering that they create a platform through which individuals and groups, as members of our community, express and exchange opinions, they are an integral part of modern society. Today, the globalization of the media is more frequent and present, that is why mass media, guided by trends, have to take into consideration global public opinion. This thesis will try to explain the model of public broadcasting service in which broadcasting is produced, funded and controlled for the public. It is important that public broadcasting service maintains its independence and resistance to all political interference or commercial pressure. Also, in order to present the form of liberal democracy, it should be based on pluralism, responsibility and transparency, program diversity and editorial independence. Furthermore, as a member of the Public Broadcasting Service in Germany, we will present the Broadcasting Corporation Deutsche Welle, whose business analysis will be presented in four chapters. The reader gets insight into the power of the long-standing existence of this company that manifests itself in the effort to adjust to the needs of the market by "being at the right time - at the right place" and connecting the "transnational audience" to the "Deutsche Welle media space".
