Abstract
Tema ovoga rada je vanjska politika Republike Hrvatske. U radu se opisuju sami počeci diplomacije te njezina definicija. Vanjska politika je politika koju jedna država vodi prema drugim državama, u cilju zaštite svojih interesa. Kroz vanjsku politiku država nastoji ostvariti sigurnosne i ideološke ciljeve, kao i socijalnu sigurnost. Povijest diplomacije seže do najranijih razdoblja. Hrvatsku vanjsku politiku u protekla dva desetljeća samostalnosti države obilježilo je uspješno djelovanje u ostvarenju strateških ciljeva - od međunarodnog priznanja, do članstva u NATO-u te uspješnog završetka pregovora za članstvo u Europskoj uniji i potpisivanja ugovora o članstvu. Predstavit ćemo osnove NATO saveza, njegov nastanak, razlog zbog kojeg je nastao, tko ga je osnovao, kako NATO funkcionira te koje vrijednosti zastupa. Analizirat ćemo ulogu Republike Hrvatske i njezin doprinos NATO savezu. Predstavit ćemo Europsku unije te sve njezine značajke, od povijesti do temeljnih vrijednosti koje zastupa. Također ćemo analizirati ulogu Republike Hrvatske u Europskoj uniji te prednosti koje može ostvariti u njoj. Na putu prema članstvu u NATO-u i Europskoj uniji, Republika Hrvatska je prolazila mnoge prepreke, ali ih je sve uspješno prošla. U ovom radu kronološki se prati put Republike Hrvatske do njezina članstva u Europskoj uniji te NATO savezu. Pratimo ulazak u Republike Hrvatske u ta dva saveza jer su vrhunac hrvatske vanjske politike. Na kraju u zaključku vidimo smjernice koje bismo trebali slijediti za uspješnu vanjsku politiku Republike Hrvatske te prosperitet njezinih građana.
Abstract (english)
Topic of this work is external policy of the Republic of Croatia. In the work are described the early beginnings of diplomacy and its definition. External policy is a policy that one country leads to other states, in order to protect their own interests. Through external policy, country is trying to achieve safety and ideological aims, and social security as well. The history of diplomacy dates back to the earliest periods. Over the last two decades of independence the country, Croatian external policy was marked by successful action in achieving strategic goals – from international recognition to NATO membership, and successful conclusion of negotiations for EU membership and signing contract of membership. We will introduce basics of NATO, its emergence, the reason why it was incurred, who established it, how does NATO function and which values does it represent. We will analyze role of the Republic of Croatia and its contribution to NATO. We will present European Union and all of its features, from history to the core values that EU represents. We will also analyze role of the Republic of Croatia in EU and advantages that can be achieved. On the way to membership in EU and NATO, the Republic of Croatia had so many obstacles to overcome, but it did it successfully. In this work, path of the Republic of Croatia to its membership in EU and NATO is chronological followed. At the end in conclusion we can see guidelines we should follow for successful external policy of the Republic of Croatia.
