Today's world is unthinkable without mass media communication. From the emergence of the press to the onset of the Internet, mass media are spreading, seemingly unstoppable. The rapid growth of the number of different, and most of all, electronic media, and their distribution to every corner of the Earth marked the last twenty centuries. It is realistic to assume that the accelerated development of the media will continue, in line with the development of the technology on which they are based. Parallel to the emergence and spread of mass media, public discussions about their functions and potential influence on an ever-growing audience are also taking place. Scientists and experts began with intense reflection on the media and recipients' relationship seven decades ago, to which the first electronic media (radio) spread. Special attention by the general public and experts is a constant challenge to the relationship between mass media and children as the most vulnerable segment of the population. When it comes to children (and young people in general), they get the impression that they are conducting those researches that seek for possible negative dimensions of the media spectrum. The paper deals with the issue of media violence in the community, but in order to complete the image, the paper seeks to cover the broader context of media tabloidization and the "click" and "view" of media consumers and the inappropriate reporting of children in the media, which is also a serious a problem when violence and media are being studied. The aim is to give a complete picture of the importance of violence in the media for the entire community, with special emphasis on children.
