Abstract Sport je društvena pojava koja od davnina ima veliku ulogu u ljudskim životima. Može biti riječ o profesionalnoj, amaterskoj ili rekreacijskoj inačici sporta te o kineziologiji i sportu invalida. Sport podrazumijeva fizičke kretnje i natjecateljski duh. Iako postoji koliko i čovječanstvo, značenje sporta najbolje se očituje u suvremeno doba, odnosno njegov rehabilitacijski karakter za posljedice modernog načina života.
Današnji sport, prije svega onaj profesionalni uvelike se razlikuje od svojih prethodnih oblika. Uz sport se vežu različite konotacije, a svaka od njih ima svoje uporište. Gledano iz perspektive države sport je iznimno snažan marketinški alat. Kada se gleda iz kuta sportaša pojedinca, sport je zapravo njegov posao, sredstvo pomoću kojeg zarađuje i gradi karijeru. Međuovisnost sporta i ekonomije, odnosno poduzetništva je isprepletena do tolikih razmjera da je vrlo teško utvrditi je li ekonomija potaknula sport ili je važnost sporta unaprijedila pojedine ekonomske grane. Publicitet i pozitivne vrijednosti koje sport nosi sa sobom imaju kvalitetne temelje za poduzetničke djelatnosti, a razvoju sporta svakako je pogodovao interes financijski moćnih korporacija i magnata.
Kroz takav usporedni razvoj sporta i različitih ekonomskih grana, vrlo jaki zamah uzeo je i sportski marketing. Sportski marketing podrazumijeva široki spektar radnji bez kojih je sport danas nezamisliv. Prije svega, sport se povezivao sa svojim komplementarnim ili dopunskim djelatnostima poput proizvodnje i prodaje sportske opreme, ali današnji sportski marketing podrazumijeva puno veći broj operacija. To mogu biti razna sponzorstva, pregovaranja i brendiranja, a svaki od tih poteza utječe na sport u cjelosti. U tom segmentu djelovanja pojedini klubovi su ostvarili vrlo zapažene rezultate, a prednosti sportskog marketinga iskoristili su i brojni pojedinci. Jedan od njih je i portugalski nogometaš Cristiano Ronaldo.
Abstract (english) Sport is a big social event which has played a major role in peoples lives troughout history. Sport has a lot of different versions, such as; proffesional, amateur, kinesiology, recriational or paralympic version. Sports includes physical movement and a competitive spirit. Eventough it exists as long as human civilization, the significance is seen best trough modern day because of its healing character and help with the modern day life.
Modern day sport, especially the proffesional side is very different from its previous forms. There is a lot of connotations connected to sports and every one of those connotations has its stronghold. For countries, sport can be a very strong marketing tool, but for an individual sport is their job, a source of income and a way to build a good career. Economy and sports are connected in numerous ways, infact they are connected in so many ways that it is impossible to decide whether the economy had an impact in developing sports or whether did sports help develop economies branches. Publicity and positive values that sport brings have a quality stronghold for developing good business. And in addition, the ineteres of strong financial corporation has surely contributed in developing sport.
Since economy and sports have had a proportional growth in comperacing to one another it has derived a growth in sports marketing. Sports marketing implies a lot of work without which the modern day sport wouldn't be possible. Firstly, sport is connected to its complementary and additional activies like producing and selling sports equipment, but sports marketing is much more than just producing and selling sports equipment, it implies a lot of different operations. For example, those operations can be about sponsoring, brending or negotiating and every single operation has a significant impact on sports. In that particular area, certain clubs have had a lot of good results and therefore success, and some idividuals like Cristiano Ronaldo have taken advantage of sport marketing to make a lot of income and publicity.
