The oral communication is the oldest and most commonly used communication media. It can take many forms and speech is one of them. Speech is generally the most effective media in transmitting a message at meetings, seminars, conferences, etc. Through speech, the speaker can present his or her opinion and the opinion on any matter to a large audience at one time, therefore oral presentations are often used in business, social, political and religious meetings. Speech is a highly structured targeted content in which the speaker addresses the audience who wants to hear the message, therefore the speaker should consider the expectations, interest and nature of the audience. Good speech should be impartial and reasonable using non-verbal signs of communication. The most important parts of speech are the beginning and the end. Capturing the attention of the listener can be achieved with a well-structured first sentence. The calmness and safety of the speaker gives the audience the impression that the speaker is well prepared and has something interesting to say. The end of the speech should also resonate strongly among the audience either with a sentence that will make the public laugh or to stimulate on thinking over. As speakers' skills have evolved from earliest history to the present, and how much speakers have improved since ancient Greece, Rome, and to this day, I have tried to give an overview of internationally and domestically-presented speakers through the selection of the most memorable speeches by recognized speakers. It should be said that speaking brings together a range of knowledge and skills and that, despite of modern technologies and the availability of social networks, it still has an advantage over all communication media.
