Abstract Današnja uporaba interneta i bivanje u virtualnom okruženju djece nužno je i ima ogroman utjecaj na život. To je novo okruženje i novi medij za distribuciju informacija koji ima vlastitu kulturu, svoj način komuniciranja, u njemu nema provođenja zakona i nema geografskih i nacionalnih granica. Virtualno okruženje tako je u stanju promijeniti način razmišljanja, interakciju sa svijetom i stvoriti nove oblike ponašanja i odnosa. To je možda najveći izum 20. stoljeća koji daje veliku snagu svojim korisnicima; dakako, s velikom moći dolazi i velika odgovornost, posebice za djecu i mlade. U ovom završnom radu obrađuje se tema utjecaja virtualnog okruženja na djecu, njegovo poimanje, filozofija te opisuje razine računalne, virtualne i informatičke pismenosti kod djece. Također, bavi se virtualnim oblicima digitalnog okruženja u kojemu se djeca nalaze, pozitivnim edukacijskim i rekreacijskim utjecajima na djecu, kao i definiranjem negativnih utjecaja virtualnog okruženja. U središte problema stavlja se ranjivost djece u virtualnom okruženju, ovisnost i virtualno nasilje i maltretiranje - cyberbulling. Naglašeni su pozitivni učinci rehabilitacijskog utjecaja virtualnog okruženja na djecu i adolescenata te smanjivanje nekadašnjeg jaza zemalja prvog i trećeg svijeta dolaskom online škola u svaki kutak svijeta koji je obrazovanje približio milijunima djece diljem svijeta.
Bitno je spomenuti i zaštitu djece u virtualnom okruženju za koje su zadužene posebne vladine i nevladine institucije. Prva takva je „Internet Security Research Group“ iz Novog Zelanda, dok u Hrvatskoj djeluje „Društvo za komunikacijsku i medijsku kulturu“. Glavna svrha i cilj njihovog djelovanja je stvoriti zajednicu koja će raditi na pružanju internetske sigurnosti u javnu korist. Isto tako, zalažu se za to da institucijama poput škola i knjižnica ponude resurse koji će im pomoći u obrazovanju i zaštiti djece. Upravo zbog ovih razloga utjecaj i prisustvo roditelja u virtualnom odrastanju djece od velikog je značaja. Djeci treba dati slobodu služenja virtualnim sadržajima, ali uz konstantu kontrolu i restrikcije. Sadržaj koji pregledavaju mora biti prikladan i siguran, a upravo takav sadržaj svaki roditelj svome djetetu mora omogućiti korištenjem kontrole i selekcije digitalnih aktivnosti djeteta.
Abstract (english) Today's use of the Internet and being in the virtual environment of children is necessary and has a huge impact on life. It is a new environment and medium for the distribution of information that has its own culture, its own way of communicating, it has no law enforcement and no geographical and national borders. The virtual environment is being able to change the way of thinking, interacting with consciousness and creating new forms of behavior and relationships. It is perhaps the greatest invention of the 20th century that gives great power to its users; of course, with great power comes great responsibility, especially for children and young people. This final paper deals with the topic of the impact of the virtual environment on children, its understanding, the philosophy that describes the level of computer, virtual and information literacy in children. It also deals with the virtual forms of the digital environment in which children find themselves, the positive educational and recreational impacts on children, as well as defining the negative impacts of the virtual environment. At the heart of the problem is the vulnerability of children to the virtual environment, addiction and virtual violence, and bullying-cyberbulling. The positive effects of the rehabilitation impact of the virtual environment on children and adolescents were emphasized, as well as the reduction of the former gap between the first and third world countries with the arrival of online school in every world, which brought education closer to millions of children around the world.
It is important to protect children in the virtual environment for which special governments and non-governmental institutions are in charge. The first of these is the "Internet Security Research Group" from New Zealand, while in Croatia there is a "Society for Communication and Media Culture". The main purpose and goal of their action will be to create a community that will work to provide Internet security in the public interest. They also advocate that institutions such as schools and libraries offer resources to help them educate and protect children. It is for these reasons that the influence and presence of parents in the virtual growth of children is of great importance. Children should be given the freedom to use virtual content, with constant control and restrictions. The content it reviews must be appropriate and safe, and it is precisely this content that every parent of the entire child must provide by using controls and selecting the child's digital activities.
