Abstract
Gastronomija ili gastrologija (od grčke riječi gaster - stomak i nomos - znanje ili zakon) obuhvaća sve ono što se odnosi na kuhanje, kuharsku vještinu i s tim u vezi. Za zemlju poput Hrvatske, kao i sam Pelješac, gastronomska ponuda je važan dio turističke ponude. Kvalitetna turistička promocija ne može se temeljiti samo na suncu i moru, pa se stoga turistička promocija okreće gastronomskoj ponudi kao dijelu kvalitativnog iskoraka hrvatskog turizma. Bogata trpeza ukusne hrane jak je motiv da se neka zemlja obilazi godinama. Razvoj gastronomskog turizma na Pelješcu donosi mnogobrojne koristi kao što je produljenje sezone, povećavanje mogućnosti zapošljavanja mladih ljudi, te povećavanje potrošnje turista koji borave u destinaciji. Uz promoviranje Pelješca kao destinacije, te gastronomije kao važnog segmenta ponude, svi definirani ciljevi širenja ponude u tom dijelu, kao i privlačenje novog segmenta gostiju, mogli bi se zasigurno u potpunosti ostvarivati.
Abstract (english)
Gastronomy or gastrology (from the Greek word gaster - stomach and prefecture - knowledge or law) includes everything that relates to cooking, culinary art in this connection. For a country like the Croatia, as well as the Pelješac peninsula, cuisine is an important part of tourism. Quality of tourism promotion can not be based only on the sun and the sea, and therefore tourism promotion turns cuisine as part of the qualitative breakthroughs of Croatian tourism. Rich table of delicious food is a strong motive for visiting a country for years. The development of gastronomic tourism in the peninsula Pelješac brings many benefits, such as the extension of the season, increasing employment opportunities for young people, and increasing consumption of tourists staying in the area. In addition to promoting the peninsula as a destination and gastronomy as an important product segment, all defined objectives to broaden the offer in this area, as well as attract a new segment of guests could be surely realized.
