It is a fact that the development of technology and the Internet has led to significant changes in everyday life and business. The benefits that technology has made possible are increasingly used, and sometimes it seems that technology will replace human contact. This is most visible in areas such as trade, marketing and banking. Nowadays, technology in banking has an increasing importance in the business of banks because today all transactions can be carried out via the Internet and banks, while clients no longer have to wait in long queues in banks to pay their bills or withdraw money. The aim of this paper is to follow the development of technology and to show how it has affected man and society in general. Furthermore, the goal is to show the way in which Internet banking functions as a channel for the sale and distribution of banking products. It also tries to connect the banking sector with the development of technology and to show in an understandable way how much easier people's lives are precisely thanks to technological progress and further development. This paper presents an example from practice, the modern banking of Erste Bank. Erste offers its users more digital services, and at the end of 2021, Erste Bank has 413,474 digital users, of which 309,358 are actively using the services. In January 2015, Erste presented its digital banking platform "George" in Austria. George is presented as the most modern platform for Internet banking.
