In modern society, mass media play a crucial and complex role. They have the power to shape our perception, shape public opinion and drive social change. During this seminar, various aspects of the relationship between media and society has been explored, specifically exploring how this dynamic interaction has evolved during the COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding the impact of mass media on individuals and society is a key issue. In the age of rapid spread of information and misinformation, the issue of social responsibility of the media is becoming increasingly important. Media audience research allows us to gain a deeper understanding of our perception and trust in the media, and how new media are changing the way we consume information. Special attention is paid to the relationship between the media and young people (youth), especially in the context of digital technologies. Young people are exposed to an abundance of information and influences through digital media, which raises important questions about digital literacy, the problem of addiction and the need for media education to encourage critical thinking. The COVID-19 pandemic brought significant changes in society and the media, and it was investigated how the media followed the development of the pandemic, providing information on containment measures, health aspects, economic consequences, and social and humanitarian reactions. This made it clear how much power the media have in shaping public opinion and informing citizens during the crisis This seminar explored the complex relationship between media and society, with a special focus on the impact of mass media on young people during the COVID-19 pandemic. To investigate the impact, a survey questionnaire was conducted on a sample of 104 people in the age range between 18 and 30 years.
