In this final work I will deal with the topic of relations between geopolitics and economics between the Croatian and the European Union, and in particular the Croatian accession to the same. In today’s globalized world economy, a country is closely linked to its geopolitical interests, when these two concepts are intertwined, it is difficult and almost impossible to connect the context of Croatian accession to the EU. This final work will be talking about the new Croatian history, and aspirations of the Croatian people for autonomy and those of the European integration, which were manifested at the beginning of the nineties. On the other hand, we will see how the European Union was created, and the difference between what was represented when it was founded and how it is seen today in a completely different dimension than originally envisioned. Then, the basic information of Croatia and the European Union will be introduced, in order to see what are the implications for geopolitics and economics which were access for Croatia to enter the European Union. As well, then we can see who profited more, Croatia or the European Union citizens and the political elite. The situation will be summarized, assuming that Croatia has entered the European Union, to analyse whether that situation was better or worse than it currently is.
